The massage of His Excellency the
Ambassador of The Republic of Yemen This situation caused the people of Yemen to suffer from backwardness
and to be deprived of the blessings of education and progress, the
splitting of the country prevented the nation from fulfilling of its
hopes and ambitions for making Yemen a developed and prosperous country,
self governed by its people, and employ its potentials, resources
and powers to build a strong institutional and prosperous state, till
the time that a revolution came on 26th September 1962 and reinforced
on 14th October 1963 against the "Imama" in the north of
the Homeland, and against the colonialism in its south. While we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the reunification of Yemen we feel delighted and proud of the progress we achieved in our national reunification march, and to surmount a series of obstacles and difficulties, the people of Yemen feel further proud of the democratic and pluralistic environment resulted by the reunification march in the form of press freedom, human rights protection, legislative and presidential free and fair elections, and ensuring vast authorities by the constitution for the local councils' elections and the councils of various governorates. From this perspective the reunification process continues its contributions
for the good of Yemen, and as a safety valve for the stability and
security of the region and its prosperity. Furthermore the sagacious
foreign policy adopted by Yemen has promoted its relations with the
Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and Arab and Islamic countries,
and made it an effective and positive factor in foreign relations
and in developing and promoting bilateral interests with all countries
in accordance with the UN Charter and other regional organizations,
on the basis of mutual respect of national sovereignty and non interference
in internal affairs.
